IPP Information Technology

Under the guidance of IT Director, Debra Howell, the IT department serves as stewards of Infrastructure Properties and Planning, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, and Cornell University Police's IT resources, data resources, and policies. IPP IT is comprised of Computing Services and Programming Services. Computing Services is comprised of two groups:  Computer Support and Systems Administration.

  • Computer Support provides comprehensive desktop support for the divisions of IPP, HR, EHS, and CUPD and maintains over 800 workstations, manages desktop deployments and the IT procurement, and coordinates with IT@Cornell
  • Systems Administration provides network services, server management, application and system support, and security for IPP, CUPD, HR, and EHS. They support over 80 physical and virtual servers and numerous systems and applications.
  • Programming Services' main focus is the development and maintenance of specialized software systems that support the operations of IPP.  Many of these systems integrate with each other or external systems such as Kuali, Registrar, and PeopleSoft, to name a few.
  • Within Programming Services, the Building Automation and Controls Systems Integration (BACSI) team supports the EMCS in all its facets including design, installation, networking, user interfaces, databases and operations.
